Sucker

Sucker This poor fish was probably just swimming along enjoying the warm summer day, when all of a sudden this osprey comes swooping in and has the fish for lunch. It was an amazing catch watching the osprey drop out of the tree and catch the fish. The fish weighed considerably more than the osprey. In fact the osprey wasn't gaining any altitude flying directly at me, decided to turn towards the shore and ate half of the fish before flying up to the nest. There has always been a debate about photographers being lucky and getting great photos. Photographers are lucky but they make it happen. I had spent the previous two days watching the nest and learning the routines of the adult osprey. By doing this I had a good idea of when and where the osprey liked to hunt. Knowing this I set up my camera and waited for the osprey to go fishing and for lady luck to find me.
