Incoming Shoveler

Incoming Shoveler Ducks are fun to photograph, and a bit of a challenge to catch a duck inflight. Once you observe a duck for a while you begin to learn little characteristics of that duck, it also pays to study the and read up on the duck before you go out to photograph them as well. When shovelers are getting ready to fly they make a low pitch klacking noise and move their heads from side to side. Usually they or it will be taking off in a few moments so be ready. Ducks are also easier to photograph when the duck is flying at you because it is easier to keep the duck in focus. When the duck is flying to the left or right they tend to change direction and you can lose sight of the and have to reaquire and focus again. Ducks are almost everywhere and a quick trip to the park with you telephoto is a great place to practice photographing ducks.
